Jus’ Trufs

Before diverging into the review let me tell you the amazing story behind this place. It is started by a group of independent women entrepreneurs pursuing their passion for baking. Chenddyna, one of the co-founders is a trained chocolatier who has done  professional courses abroad.  She had also been selected by a renowned Financial Services Company for their CSR Program of empowering women entrepreneurs.  Today it employs around 40 people and is extremely successful in becoming a well known brand. They support the local farmers and Make In India Ideology by Replacing Belgium Chocolate with Karnataka grown Cocoa Beans and have an in house processing unit.

Located in Jakkur around 10 kms away from the Restaurant Hub Of Kammanahalli. The reason this area was ideal for the cafe to come into existence as the owners stay in the area close by. There is hardly any competition around and the vicinity really needed a sophisticated eatery.

It was a superb drive or a magnificient short journey. You might hear a citizen of Namma Bengaluru saying this for the first time in years. I was overwhelmed to notice Transaction of passing from an urban to rural area. Vast buildings have been replaced by tiny houses. Not entirely though. Developments have expanded beyond outskirts and there is a lot of construction. As for the greenery, it’s pretty much the same as anywhere in the entire Garden City. The difference I loved is Relief from heavy traffic, noise pollution and an escape from the busy hustle bustle of main town.

Food- The Hot Chocolate shots were fantastic. Literally liquid goodness meant to be given as a welcome drink in paradise. French fries accompanied with the Exceptional dip was incredible. Spicy chocolates are a trend. It was a pleasant surprise to to see jalapeño and white chocolate sauce mix. It became an addiction and was stopped only after the bowl was wiped clean. Mini bite size sliders like Bombay Street wich and Cool Chick wich are fabulous and can become anyone’s favourite. Chilled Chocolate Fudge Milkshake is outstanding. It is indeed ‘life changing’ and what a true authentic chocolate drink should be like. Learning lesson for those people who disgrace it by mixing some random chocolate powder in milk. Pizzas are remarkable. Delicious topping, Succulent chicken, soft, melt in the mouth base and four different cheese including Mozzarella, Cheddar and Parmesan whose texture and colour can be clearly distinguished. Sandwiches were brilliant. Impeccable layers filling. Iced Tea was exquisite and refreshing.  Baked Cheesecake is great if your palate is accustomed to the tangy flavour.  And Of Course finally saving the best for the last, the chocolates pralines, truffles and bars are phenomenal.

The smoked Chicken burger is their best seller. However I didn’t like it because of the sauce, messy topping and weird taste. Pasta is average and can be improved. It was very thin more like Chow Mein rather than spaghetti. Grilled fish was ordinary and could have had more spice and better marination. (6/10)

Service-Excellent Hospitality. Staff is courteous, polite, well trained, efficient and quick. Preparation may take slightly longer because everything is made fresh from scratch as per order. Splendid personal touch by the owner. The Abridged Tour of the process was a Wonderful experience. I was acquainted with the various steps right from cocoa bean to nibs to molten chocolate to tempering.  I enjoyed the thrill of getting my hands dirty and actually making chocolate. Parking available in a ground beside. (8/10)

Ambience  Simple design yet attractive decor. Relaxed and lively environment. A homely and cozy atmosphere with a spectacular display of marvellous chocolates and impressive desserts. Nice ventilation and natural light. Beautiful posters. The entire building is owned by Jus Trufs with a processing unit on one floor, office on the other and also an Event hall on the terrace. The cafe is on the ground floor with a small seating capacity of around 25. Comfortable chairs. Regular square wooden tables. A huge sign board is quite prominent and can be easily spotted from a distance. (7/10)

Pricing-Moderately High. Food menu is economical and pocket friendly. The Chocolate Tour might be a little bit expensive but definitely is worth the amount with value for money because  you get a lot of knowledge about history of chocolate and is interesting to see how a cocoa fruit is completely transformed into a sweet delight and also a live demo of practically making chocolate. Budget constraint should not be a reason for you to miss this. The cost of exemplary homemade chocolates are in par with most other places and is affordable.  Will surely come back again craving and hungry for more. (8/10)
