Mainland China

Food- Nothing great, extraordinary or remarkable. No unique/ exquisite dishes but some appetisers are phenomenal. The desserts are quite impressive. (4/10)

Ambience- Spectacular and beautiful with marvellous statues and paintings. (8/10)

Service- Slow And Poor. Though the waiters are courteous, they are lethargic.  (5/10)

Pricing- Not at all cost effective and a bit expensive for a casual meal. However the buffet is worth the amount and a must have for Chinese Lovers because a happy filled belly makes you forget the hole in your pocket.           (4/10)

One stand out feature of this restaurant is its mesmerising and captivating ambience and decoration. It offers a fine luxury dining experience amidst the aroma of spices wafting from its splendid kitchen. The waiters were sluggish and a bit irritated. The orange mandarin mock tail drink was cool and refreshing. Fried Dimsums were excellent and the best I’ve had so far at a Chinese restaurant but the Hot and sour soup misfired horribly and had a weird smell. It was so bad that I had to send it back for the chef to check it. All the appetizers I ordered were amazing except one. The Drums of Heaven- Shandong Style was wonderful and Pan fried Chilli Fish was great. However I hated the Pepper Barbeque chicken starter that had a sweetish pungent taste which many dislike. In the main course shredded chicken was quite delicious. Since I am used to Indian style Chinese cooking, neither the pure Chinese style Chicken Fried rice nor the Shezwan Fried Rice suited my palate. Stir Fried noodles was brilliant and much better than the Pan fried Noodles which was rubbery and bland. The best of the evening which left me ebullient, excited and joyful was the desserts- Crème bulle, Honey glazed fried Crumbs and what not? I tried the chocolate rolls that were fantastic and the sizzling brownie which was also good. The bill was atrociously expensive and all the prices are high. On the whole, some dishes were pathetic and some superb. The service was nothing exclusive or special and the dinner burnt my fingers with the charges. Since it was my cousin’s birthday, the restaurant gave us a complimentary cake and the waiters also took the initiative to sing and wish her. This gesture will be etched in my memory.
