Olive Garden

Olive Garden restaurant is located on the same site on Mosque Road where an excellent Mughlai restaurant- Zaoq once was. It is just 3 months old and can improve in a lot of aspects. The Exterior is more impressive than the interior. The ambience is a bit dull and poor. This place offers a plethora of dishes from 3 types of cuisine- Arabian, Chinese and Indian. Prices are economical and relatively less than others in and around Frazer Town. Quantity is pretty large and sufficient. The Arabian food is the best and is top notch. Indian was a big frown and Chinese was a let down. The Chef gives his own unique innovations to the traditional Arabic food that can surely give a competition to Arabian Speciality restaurant- Savoury that is close by but there is nothing special in the remaining menu. Though the service is fast, it is not in synchronise- the main course coming before starters. Waiters are a little clumsy and in a hurry to serve. Chicken Shawarma roll in rumali roti was ‘the bomb’- It was remarkable. After eating it Dil Garden Garden ho Gaya. Although the Alfaham Chicken was delicious and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste, it was undercooked. The Hyderabadi Tikka had the flavouring (tadka) of masala and chillies. However, it was extremely spicy. Manchow Soup was good. The Cheese naan was wonderful and soft topped with a generous amount of butter. There was nothing great in the fried rice or the ‘Bhuna Gosh’ gravy. The sauces and chutneys- garlic sauce, pudina chutney, hummus, mint chutney, etc compliment the food well.
